Tier 3 Data Collector Position
Boston University’s Wheelock Institute for the Science of Education (WISE Institute), is looking for organized, dependable and attentive data collectors to serve as consultants on a grant at Boston University. Work will be conducted in the Lewiston, ID XXPLACEXX area for the winter and spring of 2025 for approximately 10-20 hours per week. Hourly rate is between $16-$18 based on experience and expertise; mileage will be reimbursed. Position will start immediately and the project timeline requires attending virtual 2-day training in mid-January and ability to administer in-person assessments thereafter.
Data collectors will be responsible for administering individual language and literacy assessments to students in Grades K-2 and additional support to other aspects of the research project.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful applicants will have the ability to travel to nearby research sites/schools and willingness to work intermittent, flexible hours.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and follow procedures.
- Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks to achieve clean reliable data collection.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- General comfort/proficiency with technology/programming that might be found in a school setting
- Regular reliable access to the internet.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the job.
- Previous experience in a research or school environment, or experience working with students and teachers is highly desirable.
- Experience working with younger children preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. A degree in a related field is highly desirable.
